Everyone should feel loved and celebrated.  Especially on their birthday!  This goes out to one of my besties of 10 1/2 years!

There are so many things that I admire about Leah.  One is, She has a huge heart and genuinely wants the best for others.  Everyone needs someone that is for them, who is in their corner.  I’ve been fortunate to have her in mine.  She has been an encouragement to me whether it be a kind word, saying something to make me laugh, telling me to buck up or calling me to the carpet!

Leah, I hope you feel as much love as you show others!  You inspire me!  This card goes out to you...Happy Birthday!!

Big hug from the Big D,

m

P.S.- I love that the girls have black and blonde hair.  Totally us!

This is my dad*.
I mean this is my dad!!!
He’s great at a lot of things such as giving me advice, encouragement, setting a great example, and being my personal Apple genius!

Dad, I love how you love Jesus and you want to please him first.  I love that you have taken care of sis and me so well and have invested yourself into our lives.  I also love how you serve others so well.  You are patient and have set a great example.

People tell me all the time that I favor you- they mean in the looks department. I secretly hope that I can favor you in more areas than one.

All my love,
m

*he once told me that he looked like Sting from Dune after his hair was windblown at the beach.  We never let him forget.  I laughed for a looong time about thisand still do!  Love ya, daddy!
If you live near Charleston, WV you might have heard of a quaint little place called Lola’s.  It is on my top 5 of places to eat when going home.  This adorable white house with lime green shutters and a purple door sits in the bend of a very winding road.  It’s my favorite pizza place and have been known to get some major cravings for it on occasion!  I’ve spent my fair share of time there with family and friends laughing and sharing stories. Since I moved to Dallas, quaint little places like this seem to be few and far between.

This past weekend one of my coworkers, Ashley invited a few friends and me over for dinner.  I might as well have driven up Bridge Rd. and turned the wheel right into Lola’s.  Adam, her husband grilled some pretty amazing pizzas. This card is for you!  Thanks Ashley & Adam for a little taste of home!  I’ll be over again soon

cheers!

Have you ever had a prayer answered immediately?  I have.  Meet Katie.  Before I moved to Texas I asked God to give me a Christian friend at work.  Katie started about two months after I did.  We were in similar situations ... had both just moved to the Dallas area, new to the job and our desks ended up beside each other. I quickly found out a few things about her.  She hails from the great state of Wisconsin- (that means she loves cheese curds))!  I think she might dream about them! Also, she is an awesome cook- you should try her scones sometime.  One thing I admire about her is that she seems to be able to hold her tongue and choose her words wisely.  Proverbs :18 talks about how words can kill or give life- hers give life.

Thanks for being a great example to me Katie!  This card goes out to you. You have been a blessing to me and I will miss seeing you at work.

Thankful for you,

m

Over the past three years I have been volunteering at church with student ministries. I have heard their stories, listened to them when they are going through a hard time and laughed with them often. I’ve seen them love others and serve each other well. More importantly, I’ve seen their heart for Jesus and how they want to know and love him more. This brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart!

This weekend was a chance to celebrate the graduation of two girls that I admire. These cards go out to them.

Congratulations, A and O! You’ve heard me tell you often, but I am so proud of you!

Hoping the best for you,

m
